On 6-7 July Department of Tourism and Resorts of Georgia organized conference on mountainous resorts development. The conference was held in “Sheraton Metekhi Palace”.
The main goal of the conference was to share experience of Innsbruck, Austria to plan, develop and manage mountainous resorts in Georgia. Mountainous resort development is a complex issue that implies planning of the resort, infrastructure development, land management, creating touristic product, marketing and other related issues.
Among invited guests were experts from Tirol, Austria, representatives of tourism national boards of Azerbaijan and Armenia, also stakeholders of private sector that are engaged in mountainous resort business.
Deputy chairman Vakhtang Asatashvili gave presentation about current conditions of Georgian mountainous resorts and perspective of their development. The conference was divided in three sections and covered issues of planning, management and marketing of mountainous resorts. |
